The Cow came to Tweedy!

Mobile Dairy Classroom assembly was a success!

Ruby the Cow and Timothy (a week year old bull) visited Tweedy Elem on January 25th.  Mr. Batista, the Mobile Dairy Classroom Instructor, talked to the Tweedy students about how milk and dairy foods are produced and how they contribute to healthy eating.

They listened attentively and learned about the life of a cow. More than anything the students were excited to have an opportunity to see a real cow and touch Timothy the baby bull. It was an exciting moment for all the students at Tweedy Elem., thanks to the Dairy Health Program and Mr. Batista.

What Students Learn in the Mobile Dairy Classroom:

  • The anatomy of a dairy cow
  • How milk goes from a cow to their school/home
  • The agricultural technology used on dairy farms
  • The many different foods made from milk
