Acknowledgements and Celebrations

* A special thanks to Ms. Garcia for reaching out to families and providing information about the importance of daily attendance.

*Kudos to Positive Discipline & Safety Committee for helping organize and evaluate our practices during an emergency.

  Our school and office will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday from November 20th thru 24th. Classes will resume, Monday, Nov. 27th (a regular school day).

Tweedy Eagles Running Club

Our running club will be participating in South Gate's 3rd Annual Turkey Trot 5k!  This Saturday, Nov. 18th at 9 a.m.

Come out! Get in shape! You can run or walk. Give back to your community and have a great time.  There will be entertainment, raffles, music and other great prizes for the family. So come out and support our Eagles!

Events & Dates to Remember

Districtwide Earthquake Drill

Our Tweedy Eagles had an opportunity to participate in our districtwide earthquake drill.

The goals of the training drill are to improve our ability to protect students, save lives, and reduce injuries.  As part of the drill, the students and staff will participate in the activation of our school’s Safe School Plan.  please discuss with your child your family’s home emergency preparedness plan.  Several resources are available to help you prepare.  The American Red Cross has outstanding materials.  You can obtain Red Cross materials in English or in Spanish from their website: http://www.redcross.org or by calling the Los Angeles Chapter at (310) 445-9900.  Your telephone directory also has valuable information on first aid, CPR and home preparedness.

Box Tops for Education


Look for them on your cereal boxes, cans, and other items. KEEP CLIPPING and place them in your classroom Box Top Mailbox, or give them to your teacher.  Each Box Top is worth 10 cents.
